The function of Chloroacetamide
Chloroacetamide is white needle-like crystals. Melting point is 119-121 ℃. Boiling point is225 ℃ (decomposition). It is soluble in 10 times the volume of water and ethanol, slightly soluble in ether. Irritating and corrosive. More lively and chlorine atoms can be used as chlorinating agent. It can be obtained by acid and ammonia.In the pharmaceutical industry, Chloroacetamide is mainly used for synthesis of long-acting sulfa B (SMPZ) and Phentolamine.
